Luca Signorelli, an Italian Renaissance painter, was known for his exceptional drafting skills and innovative use of foreshortening. His masterpiece, the extensive frescoes portraying the Last Judgment in Orvieto Cathedral, showcases his artistic talent. Signorelli completed commissions in Florence, Siena, and Rome before ultimately settling in Cortona. Trained by Piero della Francesca, his Quattrocento style gradually lost popularity in the following century. In 2023, a significant exhibition in Cortona will honor the 500th anniversary of his passing.
