Shirley Muldowney, also known as “Cha Cha” and the “First Lady of Drag Racing,” is a celebrated American auto racer. She made history by becoming the first woman to be granted a license by the NHRA to drive a Top Fuel dragster. Muldowney achieved significant success in her career, winning the NHRA Top Fuel championship in 1977, 1980, and 1982. She was the first individual to secure both two and three Top Fuel titles. Muldowney’s accomplishments also include triumphs in 18 NHRA national events.
