Nicholas Ridley was an English Bishop known for his teachings and support of Lady Jane Grey. He was one of the Oxford Martyrs and was burned at the stake during the Marian Persecutions. He is commemorated in the calendar of saints in some parts of the Anglican Communion on 16 October, along with Hugh Latimer. Ridley’s professional life in the Church of England was marked by his religious leadership, advocacy for his beliefs, and martyrdom for his faith.
