Alphonse Mucha was a Czech painter, illustrator, and graphic artist known for his distinctive Art Nouveau style. Later in his career, he created The Slav Epic, a series of twenty symbolist canvases depicting the history of Slavic peoples. Presented to Czechoslovakia in 1928, this series was considered his magnum opus. Mucha’s illustrations, advertisements, and designs defined the Art Nouveau era and left a lasting impact on the art world.
