Cindy Sheehan is a prominent American anti-war activist, best known for her notable protest against the Iraq War outside President George W. Bush’s Texas ranch in 2005. She later ran for Congress in 2008 and has been vocal in criticizing the foreign policies of both President Obama and President Trump. She is also the author of the memoir “Peace Mom: A Mother’s Journey Through Heartache to Activism” published in 2006. In 2012, she was the vice-presidential nominee for the Peace and Freedom Party and garnered 1.2% of the vote in the 2014 California gubernatorial election.
