Porter’s art frequently showcased scenes from his family’s summer house in Maine and their residence in New York. Inspired by French painters Pierre Bonnard and Édouard Vuillard, he sought to capture the essence of everyday life. Porter left approximately 250 of his works to the Parrish Art Museum.
