Peter Behrens was a prominent German architect, graphic, and industrial designer known for his innovative work in the early 20th century. He was a founding member of the German Werkbund and played a key role in pioneering corporate design and graphic design for AEG. His career spanned various styles, from the rationalist/classical German Reform Movement to Brick Expressionism and New Objectivity. Behrens also led the architecture school at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and influenced many European modernist architects, such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, and Walter Gropius.
