Harry Kellar, renowned as the “Dean of American Magicians,” was an American magician celebrated for his grand stage performances during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He trained under Robert Heller and Isaiah Hughes and preceded Harry Houdini in the world of magic. One of his remarkable acts included the levitation of Princess Karnac, influenced by John Nevil Maskelyne. Kellar collaborated with the Martinka Magic Company for the creation of various illusions and sets, including the iconic “Blue Room.”
