Kim Soo-nyung is a decorated former South Korean Olympic archer who competed in three consecutive Olympic Games in 1988, 1992, and 2000. Over the course of her career, she clinched a total of four gold medals in the Olympics – one for the individual event in 1988 and three for the team event in 1988, 1992, and 2000. Additionally, she earned a silver medal in 1992 and a bronze in 2000 for the individual events. After taking a hiatus following the 1992 Olympics, Kim made a comeback in 1999 to prepare for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Her success extended beyond the Olympics, as she also secured numerous medals in competitions like the Asian Games and World Championships. Kim’s outstanding achievements led to her being recognized as the Female Archer of the 20th Century by the International Archery Federation in 2011.
