Heidemarie Ecker-Rosendahl is a retired German athlete known for her achievements in the pentathlon and long jump. She set a world record in the long jump in 1970 and won a gold medal in the long jump at the 1972 Munich Olympics. She also excelled in the pentathlon, finishing second in a thrilling competition. Ecker-Rosendahl was chosen as the German Sportswoman of the Year in 1970 and 1972. Following her athletic career, she worked as an athletics coach for several organizations.
