Pruitt previously represented Tulsa and Wagoner counties in the Oklahoma Senate and served as the state’s Attorney General, where he sued the EPA multiple times. He faced numerous federal investigations for his spending habits, conflicts of interest, and management practices, ultimately resigning from office. Despite his controversial tenure, Pruitt later ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate.
