Caro Emerald is a Dutch pop and jazz singer known for her music project under her name as well as The Jordan. She gained recognition in 2009 with her debut single “Back It Up” and subsequently topped the charts with “A Night Like This.” Her debut album, Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor, set a record by spending 30 weeks at number one in the Dutch charts. She received the Edison Award for Best Female Artist in 2010. Her second album, The Shocking Miss Emerald, debuted at number one in both Dutch and UK charts, selling over 600,000 copies.
