Aki Parviainen is a retired Finnish track and field athlete known for his achievements in the javelin throw. He had a successful career, winning the gold medal at the 1999 World Championships and the silver medal at the 2001 World Championships. His best throw of 93.09 m, set in 1999, is the Finnish record. Despite not achieving a medal at the Olympics, he placed fifth in 2000. Unfortunately, due to injuries, he announced his retirement in the spring of 2006.
