He is best known for co-founding Winklevoss Capital Management and the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange. Winklevoss rose to prominence through his legal battle against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg concerning the creation of ConnectU, which was later renamed HarvardConnection. In addition, he competed alongside his identical twin brother Tyler in the men’s pair rowing event at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
