He was renowned for his expertise in penalty corner routines and emerged as a top scorer at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Shaw also secured a silver medal with the national team. His standout performance at the 2006 Men’s Hockey World Cup earned him a spot on the World Cup All-Star team. In addition to his hockey career, he has competed in club hockey in the Netherlands and first-class cricket for Canterbury. Shaw currently serves as a teacher at Pleasant Point Primary School in South Canterbury.
