Sandy Lyle, a Scottish professional golfer, has won two major championships and was among Britain’s top golfers in the 1980s, alongside Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam. He spent 167 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 1986 to 1989. Lyle was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in May 2012 and received an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2024 for his contributions to golf.
