Derrick Thomas, also known as “D. T.”, was a legendary American football linebacker who played 11 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. He was widely recognized as one of the greatest pass rushers in history, receiving numerous accolades such as Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors. Thomas excelled at the University of Alabama, winning the Butkus Award before being selected fourth overall by the Chiefs in 1989. Unfortunately, his career was shortened by a car accident that left him paraplegic, leading to his premature passing. He holds the record for most sacks in a single game and was posthumously inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.
