Rose Schneiderman was an American labor organizer and feminist recognized for her advocacy for better workplace conditions post the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. She was a leading figure in the New York Women’s Trade Union League, instrumental in obtaining women’s suffrage in New York in 1917. Schneiderman helped establish the American Civil Liberties Union and was part of the Labor Advisory Board during President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration, championing workers’ rights with the slogan “Bread and Roses.”
