Alberto Ascari, a skilled Italian racing driver, was known for his precise and accurate driving style. He began his racing career in motorcycles before transitioning to cars. Ascari achieved great success with Scuderia Ferrari, winning consecutive Formula One World Championships in 1952 and 1953. He also won the 1954 Mille Miglia and made an appearance at the 1952 Indianapolis 500. Ascari remains Ferrari’s only Italian champion and is among the few drivers to have held the record for the most World Championship titles. Tragically, he lost his life during a test session in 1955.
