Stephen F. Cohen was a distinguished American scholar known for his expertise in Russian studies. He focused on modern Russian history after the Bolshevik Revolution and the complex relationship between Russia and the United States. Cohen served as a contributing editor for The Nation magazine and was a founding director of the reestablished American Committee for East–West Accord in 2015.
