Amédée Ozenfant, a prominent artist and theorist, co-founded the magazine L’Elan and developed the theories of Purism with Le Corbusier. He founded the Académie Moderne in Paris, authored influential books on modern art, and emphasized the significance of color in architecture. Ozenfant’s ideas on color, influenced by Paul Signac’s Divisionism, had a lasting impact on architectural design and were widely studied and applied in post-war England. Later, he established the Ozenfant School of Fine Arts in New York and taught extensively in the United States before returning to France.
