Harold Bloom, a prominent American literary critic and Sterling Professor of Humanities at Yale University, was acclaimed for his vast literary contributions. He authored over 50 books, predominantly focusing on literary criticism, and edited several anthologies. Bloom was known for upholding the traditional Western canon in the face of challenges from the “School of Resentment.” His influence transcended borders, with his works translated into more than 40 languages. In 1995, he was elected to the American Philosophical Society.
