Bob Simpson is a former cricketer and coach known for his successful career in Australian cricket. He played for New South Wales, Western Australia, and Australia, captaining the national team and later coaching the Australian team to great success. Simpson was a right-handed batsman and leg spin bowler, making a comeback to captain Australia during World Series Cricket. As coach, he led the team to victory in the 1987 World Cup, regained The Ashes in 1989, and defeated the West Indies in 1995. Simpson also coached county cricket in England.
