He represented the West Indies in Test and One Day International teams for 17 years, while also playing for Barbados and Hampshire in first-class cricket. Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most destructive opening batsmen in cricket history, Greenidge was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2009. He was a key member of the West Indies squads that achieved success in the World Cups during the 1970s and 1980s.
