Robert Alan Eustace is an accomplished American computer scientist and former Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google. He also held the position of the first Senior Vice President for Knowledge at Google before retiring in 2015. Eustace gained global recognition for his remarkable free-fall jump from the stratosphere on October 24, 2014, breaking the world record previously set by Felix Baumgartner. This daring jump from 135,890 feet lasted 15 minutes, establishing an altitude record that remained unbroken as of 2024. Eustace was honored with the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year award in 2015.
