Wael Ghonim is a prominent Internet activist and computer engineer who played a key role in the Egyptian Revolution of 2011. He gained global attention when he was detained by Egyptian authorities for 11 days, during which he was questioned about his involvement in managing the Facebook page “We are all Khaled Said”. Ghonim is renowned for his book Revolution 2.0 and is the founder of Tahrir Academy, a tech-focused NGO dedicated to advancing education in Egypt. Additionally, he co-founded Parlio, a social media platform that was later acquired by Quora, and currently holds a position as a non-resident senior fellow at Harvard’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.
